Roberto Aguero

I'm a MSc. student at Fordham University in New York City. I'm an incoming Summer Research Associate at the Flatiron Institute under the Center for Computational Neuroscience. I am also currently working with Dr. Yiyin Zhou on algorithms to construct the Drosophila neuronal connectome.

Research

My research interests revolve around Multimodal AI, 2D/3D Vision, and Computational Neuroscience. I'm currently researching world models, and believe the key for whole brain emulation is to find a proper model for the neuron.

In Progress

We are developing an algorithm that can segment neurons in 2D & 3D Drosophila Light Microscopy images, using the multiple soma's in the brain as the starting point. The goal is to assemble a neuronal connectome.
